Bifocals
These are lenses that have a visible dividing
line that separates the distance portion at the top from the reading
bit at the bottom.
Although many people have changed from bifocals to varifocals, there
are some people who prefer bifocals, usually for one of the following
reasons:
The reading
portion is larger than in a varifocal.
There is no
distortion at the edges as there is in varifocals.
The reading
area is instantly locatable within it’s visible segment.
If you’ve tried varifocals unsuccessfully, bifocals may be an
alternative to separate pairs of reading and distance glasses |
